Finding Time to Meditate
Meditation: Part of our life
Modem day life is so jam-packed that our hectic schedule doesn't leave a lot of room for much else. What does this mean for those of us wanting to squeeze meditation into our lives? At first, you might be hard-pressed to find a spare half hour or so before dinner, but the good news is you don't even need this much time.
Meditation can begin with as little as 5-10 minutes of practice. Read on to find out some great opportunities to meditate during a busy day. The first thing to accept is that the perfect time to meditate is never going to present itself; you have to take it. If you get on with all of your daily tasks and tell yourself that the right moment with pop up later, you will have let some fantastic opportunities pass you by.
The two most optimum opportunities to meditate occur either shortly wake up, have breakfast, brush your teeth, have a shower, perhaps do your hair and make-up, maybe get the children ready for school, etc. Everyone'sroutine is different, but if you plan out your morning with the intention of making time to meditate, even the busiest of lifestyles will be able to find a spare 5 minutes even if this means setting your alarm a little earlier.
So instead of 7:15 AM, set your alarm to 7:10 AM, for example. Then slot meditation in between two of your usual morning activities. Maybe after your moming shower and before you style your hair. If you have children, this will inevitably be a little trickier but there are times available that you might have overlooked. Your first option is to find a few minutes to meditate before you wake your children up for school. If you usually wake them at 7:30 AM, you might be able to find a few moments to meditate while they are sound asleep.
